Christmas PR - The Season of Good Headlines
Christmas PR – The Season of Good Headlines
Contrary to reports in the gloom filled media it is the season to be jolly for PR savvy businesses, as now really is the winter of slick content where good headlines can be secured with a little yuletide creativity and Santa-like timing.
Pagination might be down as advertising is pulled by short-sighted and probably short-lived businesses, but with a little thought you can turn your Christmas activities into headline grabbing stories.
So what are you doing for Christmas? Anything unusual? Something different? The media will be on the lookout for anything remarkable to remark on – for instance if you happen to let your stable to a heavily pregnant woman and her husband, you have a story to tell!
Remember, photographs are foremost and the right picture – whether a Robin roosting in your office Christmas tree, or the Christmas party with a real difference - can make a real difference to the success of your release.
As ever charitable activities will reap publicity dividends; for example Morgan PR has for the last few years sent e-Christmas cards rather than the printed version, and the money we would have spent on sending some 500 cards goes instead to charity.
The most important consideration though is to be sure to tell your local media, they are not clairvoyant and need you to speak up.
Contact Morgan PR to discover how we can help you get the most from your PR opportunities this Christmas and beyond!
There is Such a Thing as a Free Breakfast...
When you visit the Newbury Business Group, West Berkshire’s foremost independent networking group! That’s right, a networking group that does not charge its guests for breakfast.
We meet every Friday at Donnington Valley Golf Club at 7.30am and guests are welcome to join us and enjoy a free cooked breakfast or bowl of freshly prepared fruit. We also encourage prospective members to visit at least twice to decide if they want to join Newbury Business Group – each time with that free breakfast guaranteed.
Try and find another networking group that does that! It is the group’s independence that allows it to function for its members rather than someone who expects a return on such facilitation. This environment allows for a genuine and healthy exchange of ideas and for productive referrals that are not forced by any rules or regulations.
Each week a different member offers a 10 minute seminar focused on their area of expertise and most meetings end with members and guests investing the time in one to one discussions.
Now an interesting development has occurred in the month since we promised to reveal which was the best networking group in Newbury – I was appointed its chairman! So I can personally extend an invitation to you to come and visit our networking group.
We are currently redesigning the website, but do visit www.newburybusiness.co.uk for more information or contact us if you would like to attend.
Help celebrate the Morgan PR Blog’s birthday and win some PR!
Two might seem like a modest age to be celebrating, but in the world of blogging it is positively ancient and we are tremendously proud that the Morgan PR Blog recently notched up two years of regular posting.
Statistics vary wildly, but a common one I've seen suggests that almost half of all new blogs will be dormant or abandoned within three months and certainly very few of the blogs that I have followed at launch ever lasted.
Do you blog? If not, you really should. Blogs are terrific fodder for search engines like Google and having a well maintained blog gets you found fast and gives your prospects the chance to learn about what you do – because that is what a good business blog is, a reflection of what you do and how it helps your clients – and by design how it can help those reading.
Today, we have published a story about this newsletter on our blog. For all those who visit our blog and leave a comment we will be running a prize draw – the winner will feature in a profile on our blog with powerful links to their own website.
