What questions would you ask the candidates for Newbury

As part of Morgan PR’s coverage of the General Election we are planning to quiz each of the candidates in the Newbury constituency and publish the results here.

What questions would you like to ask them? Sensible or otherwise!

Please add a comment with your question and we will let you know if we use your question – and what answers they give. In your comment, mention the town or village in West Berkshire where you live.

To all the candidates How will you make sure that you hear the voices of your constituency and their views? Do you make use of social media - do you actually respond, debate or just give your opinions? If you do hear our views how do you take it to parliment & make a difference? What if the view is different to your party's?

I would ask.

How important is it for the to represent the needs of small businesses locally? And do they know what these needs are?

Regards, Julian

Another question related to the Digital Economy Bill! Despite its name, the Act now passed into law seems far more about supporting the thoroughly analogue business models of corporations who do not understand or embrace the possibilities of a digital world.

My question to the candidates is this: what would you do locally in Newbury to support and encourage innovators, inventors and entrepreneurs? New technologies give so many opportunities for individuals to create, build and develop products and services that could greatly benefit our society; how would you help reward these people?

I feel it's far more important to encourage flexibility and innovation at a local level than to protect the outdated business models of global corporations. I'd be very interested to hear the candidates' views on the matter.
